Bij signetbreedband draait alles om connectiviteit

Wil je verder groeien in networking en werk je liever aan echte klantnetwerken dan aan standaard IT-support? Bij signetbreedband werk je aan de netwerken waar bedrijven dagelijks op draaien. Van SD-WAN-oplossingen tot multi-site configuraties met redundante verbindingen: geen dag is hetzelfde. Als dé connectiviteitsspecialist voor de zakelijke markt leveren we internet- en netwerkdiensten die er echt toe doen.

Als Technical Support Engineer – Networking ben je het technische aanspreekpunt voor onze zakelijke klanten. Je analyseert en lost incidenten op, voert changes uit en levert netwerkoplossingen op, samen met ervaren collega’s van Support en Network & Solutions.

Je hoeft daarbij niet alles al te kunnen. We zoeken iemand met een goede technische basis, een analytische blik en de drive om zich verder te ontwikkelen in zakelijke networking.

Hoe zit je dag eruit?

• Klantcontact met IT-professionals: je communiceert dagelijks met IT’ers van andere bedrijven over hun netwerkomgeving die wij in beheer hebben. De vraagstukken zijn daardoor inhoudelijker dan op een standaard supportafdeling, en dat maakt het werk juist interessant.

• Incidenten analyseren en oplossen: je onderzoekt storingen en vragen in klantnetwerken, van een VPN-tunnel die niet opkomt tot een VLAN- of routeringsprobleem, en zoekt door tot je de oorzaak hebt gevonden. Kom je er niet direct uit, dan schakel je met collega’s en leer je van de oplossing.

• Changes uitvoeren: je voert wijzigingen door in firewall-, router-, switch- en VPN-configuraties van klanten, onder andere op FortiGate- en Cisco-platformen. Naarmate je ervaring groeit, pak je steeds complexere changes en escalaties op.

• Oplevering van netwerkoplossingen: je configureert en levert netwerkomgevingen op bij klanten, van eenvoudige connectiviteit tot multi-site setups.

• Samenwerken en kennis delen: je werkt nauw samen met Service Delivery en Network & Solutions, legt je oplossingen vast en deelt wat je leert met je teamgenoten.

Wie ben jij?
Je bent technisch nieuwsgierig en vindt het belangrijk dat een klant niet alleen snel, maar ook goed geholpen wordt. Je werkt makkelijk zelfstandig én in teamverband, en een steile leercurve schrikt je niet af. Je lost niet alleen het probleem op dat je tegenkomt, maar achterhaalt wat er écht aan de hand is en denkt vooruit om tot een structurele oplossing te komen.

We zoeken niet iemand die ieder technisch vakje al kan afvinken. Een goede basis, technische nieuwsgierigheid en het vermogen om problemen gestructureerd op te lossen vinden we belangrijker dan het aantal jaren op je cv.

Wat neem je mee?

• Relevante werkervaring in een technische IT-, support- of netwerkomgeving, waarin je zelfstandig technische incidenten analyseert

• Kennis van TCP/IP en netwerkconcepten zoals VLAN, DNS, DHCP, VPN en routing op basisniveau

• Praktijkervaring met netwerkapparatuur, firewalls en/of VPN’s

• Communicatief sterk in Nederlands en Engels, zowel telefonisch als per e-mail

• Eigenaarschap: je neemt verantwoordelijkheid voor een probleem tot het écht is opgelost

• De ambitie om je verder te ontwikkelen in zakelijke networking en connectivity

• FortiGate en/of Cisco

• SD-WAN en multi-site VPN-omgevingen

• Routeringsprotocollen zoals BGP en OSPF

• ISP-netwerkomgevingen en carrier-grade infrastructuur

• Cisco CCNA, een Fortinet-certificering of vergelijkbaar

• Linux (command line, bash scripting)

• Monitoringtools (bijv. Nagios, Grafana, LibreNMS, Icinga)

• Automatisering met bijvoorbeeld Ansible

Heb je al veel ervaring en kun je complexe netwerkvraagstukken zelfstandig oppakken? Ook dan horen we graag van je. Binnen de salarisschaal is ruimte om rekening te houden met je ervaring.

Waar groei je naartoe?

• Je groeit van het zelfstandig oplossen van reguliere cases naar het oppakken van complexe escalaties en changes

As a Technical Support Engineer – Networking, you are the technical point of contact for our business clients. You analyze and resolve incidents, implement changes, and deliver network solutions, together with experienced colleagues from Support and Network & Solutions.

You don't have to know everything already. We are looking for someone with a solid technical foundation, an analytical mind, and the drive to further develop their skills in business networking.

What does your day look like?

• Customer contact with IT professionals: you communicate daily with IT staff from other companies regarding the network environments we manage. As a result, the issues are more substantive than in a standard support department, which is precisely what makes the work interesting.

• Analyzing and resolving incidents: you investigate malfunctions and queries in customer networks, ranging from a VPN tunnel that fails to connect to a VLAN or routing problem, and you keep searching until you find the cause. If you can't figure it out immediately, you consult with colleagues and learn from the solution.

• Executing changes: you implement changes to customers' firewall, router, switch, and VPN configurations, including on FortiGate and Cisco platforms. As your experience grows, you take on increasingly complex changes and escalations.

• Delivery of network solutions: you configure and deliver network environments to customers, ranging from simple connectivity to multi-site setups. Collaborate and share knowledge: you work closely with Service Delivery and Network & Solutions, document your solutions, and share what you learn with your teammates.

Who are you?

You are technically curious and find it important that a customer is helped not only quickly, but also well. You work easily both independently and as part of a team, and a steep learning curve does not deter you. You do not just solve the problem you encounter, but uncover what is really going on and think ahead to arrive at a structural solution.

We are not looking for someone who can already tick every technical box. We consider a solid foundation, technical curiosity, and the ability to solve problems in a structured way more important than the number of years on your CV.

What do you bring?

• Relevant work experience in a technical IT, support, or network environment, where you independently analyze technical incidents

• Basic knowledge of TCP/IP and network concepts such as VLAN, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and routing

• Practical experience with network equipment, firewalls, and/or VPNs

• Strong communication skills in Dutch and English, both by phone and email

• Ownership: you take responsibility for a problem until it is truly solved

• The ambition to further develop yourself in business networking and connectivity

• Do you already have experience with one or more of the topics below? That’s a nice bonus. If not, you can build that knowledge with us. We do not expect you to have mastered all of this already.
